Software Engineer/Data Scientist (m/w, 80-100%)

Location: Zürich Workload: 80-100% Your tasks: ● Design build and optimize real-time data pipelines, logic and storage systems with latest coding practices and industry standards (e.g., Databricks, Airflow, Spark, Kafka). ● Ensure high availability, reliability, and performance of data systems through monitoring, alerting, and operational best practices. ● Serve as the technical liaison between data infrastructure and downstream data consumers (dta science and engineering teams), ensuring alignment on definitions, metrics, and SLAs. ● Continuously evaluate and improve the technical stack and infrastructure to support evolving data and scalability needs. ● Write unit, integration tests and functional automation, towards quality assurance ● Continuously assess and optimize bottlenecks and opportunities to improve operational efficiency through automation and scalability ● Set standards for data quality, testing, version control, and deployment across all stages of the data lifecycle. ● Define and implement data governance retention and monitoring policies Your profile: ● Bachelor's degree in Computer Science with solid background in Data Sciences and Software engineering. ● 3+ years of professional software development/data engineering experience. ● Experience designing and building solutions within a cloud-based microservice architecture. ● Experience in designing and building scalable data pipelines for extraction, transformation, and loading. ● Proficient in Python, and data engineering frameworks (e.g., Databricks, Spark, Airflow). ● Experience with SQL and NoSQL based databases for storage and processing of structured, semistructured & unstructured data ● Experience in shell scripting. ● Experience with Google Big Query or Amazon Redshift or Azure Synapse Analytics or other equivalent solution is considered a plus. ● Experience in working with DevOps automation tools & practices and CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and, ideally, Kubernetes. ● Experience implementing and operationalizing data governance policies (e.g., data cataloging, metadata management, data lineage, access control). ● Experience operating in regulated environments with security and compliance needs is considered a plus.
