Responsibilities: • Accountable for the Data Science team’s contribution to the entire product development life cycle (scoping and feasibility, design input, product design, development and verification, design output validation, post-market surveillance) • Lead key projects with regards to algorithm development • Lead the Data Science team: o Manage team members’ responsibilities according to their seniority o Coach team members and facilitate their personal growth o Communicate company objectives and relevant updates from leadership level to the team • Develop and drive short-, mid- and long-term data science strategy to ensure continuous innovation and improvements to Ava’s core algorithms • Collaborate closely with all interfacing teams, e.g. Clinical Development for project feasibility and validation, Software for algorithm implementation, Regulatory Affairs to ensure regulatory approval and compliance • Own all processes related to algorithm development, closely communicate with other teams (e.g. Software Development) in order to align processes, structures and systems used • Manage and organize tools and methods used to store, process and analyse clinical data • Have a significant understanding of the source of the data and provide technical guidance to the team • Carry out experiments to verify and validate performance of fertility algorithms • Process and analyse physiological signals from clinical studies and user data • Perform feature extraction and statistical validation of developed features • Write scientific and technical documentation of activities and results • Push frontiers in bringing artificial intelligence to a highly regulated industry Your profile: • Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent • Strong knowledge in Python • At least 5 years of experiences with machine learning algorithms and tools (e.g. scikit-learn, tensorflow) • Experience in setting up necessary methods, systems and tools for data processing, algorithm development, and data analysis and evaluation • Experience in managing interdisciplinary milestone and deadline-based projects • Experience in handling of clinical and physiological data and large data sets • Experience working collaboratively on code is a plus • Experience with AWS is a plus • Working experience in regulated fields such as the medical device industry is a plus • Ability to work independently with a high sense of responsibility • Fluency in English • Swiss or EU/EFTA work permit
